Mayor Mon Repos Palace Art Hotel

We stayed 6 nights early June and we enjoyed our stay very much overall, as some other reviews state, some areas of the hotel do seem a tad tired. Hotel is in a good location and also has some great restaurants nearby. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we had a lovely view across to Corfu Town. The room was a good size, yes solid bed, I loved it, room was clean and always cleaned well and replenished. The bathroom was ok and had a few issues, the door had multiple repairs and shabby looking (probably from water issues I mention) the lip of shower edge was quite grubby, that said, the shower was good both heat and pressure wise, it was all cleaned daily. Worth noting that being a wet room style, on the first usage it flooded the bathroom, the hall of the room and almost made it outside to the corridor?? Lesson learnt, extra towels down! The pool though small was good and we found a sunbed all but one of the 4 days we wanted to use the pool. We were B&B with the odd evening buffet taken/paid for, which we found to be great value and was always different and very tasty. Breakfast also had a great variety and set us up very well for the day. We had lunch at the hotel too one day and had a couple of small plates and a salad. It was really delicious and good value. I must say, the Corfiot salad is my new fav! Thank you to all the kitchen team. We really enjoyed the 3 entertainers we saw and it was a nice way to end an evening. The bonus to this hotel as you can tell from other reviews are the team that work there. There was nobody we encountered that was not friendly, polite and very professional. As this was our first time in Greece, they even helped with our attempts at Greek. Efcharistó ! If some of the issues here were addressed this hotel would be so fantastic. Would we return, well for the team and service yes. Room wise, it is just a bit of a lottery it seems, so for now I will watch closely (Ella resorts owners please?? ) and hope to return in the not too distant future. Last but not least, and I am sorry if I have missed anyone (or have names a little off) but I want to mention how lovely our dealings were with Alexandra, Efi, Ferdi, Christos, Maria and Katerina. Everyone we met was a credit to this hotel, I did speak with Stella (manager) at check out to highlight this so hope you do all know your part in making our stay so pleasant. YOU made the difference to our stay! Hence the TA rating. σας ευχαριστώ πολύ!

We were celebrating my husbands 70th birthday at Mon Repos Palace Hotel. We had a fabulous time. Our room on the 5th floor with amazing views of the sea , was immaculately clean and comfortable. Towels and bedding changed daily. Staff had left wine and cake as a gift for my husband along with a room upgrade. Bottled water provided every day. Toiletries of a good quality. Yes, the bathroom would benefit from some modernisation, but it led to the charm of the hotel. Staff we super polite, so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good wirh a large choice of hot and cold foods. We ate on two evenings in the hotel. Their buffet was exceptional. Great Value at 20 euros per person. A good range of freshly cooked foods, salads, soup and to my husbands delight lots of dessert and ice cream! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel. It's in a brilliant location too. We look forward to returning again.

My wife and myself are currently holidaying in Corfu and have just completed a most enjoyable 4 night stay at the Mon Repos Palace Hotel (10 mins walk away from the actual Mon Repos Palace where the late Duke of Edinburgh spent some of his childhood - see separate Review) which has one of the best locations in town. It is also a lovely (sea promenade) walk into Corfu Town which - although now over 30 degrees - was something we did every day. It is a traditional property with some modern touches (ie small outdoor swimming pool for those who don’t care to walk across the road to the crystal clear sea - well patronised by many locals and visitors alike) but most amenable. Our room (#126) certainly provided that with a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, standalone shower (as requested) and lovely sea view (also as requested so please contact the hotel in advance with any special requirements). The staff are also first class and happy to oblige. For example on arrival my wife asked the Receptionist Angela if she could locate a particular Hairdresser in Benitses (small town 10 miles outside Corfu Town) and within 10 minutes she had not only done so but booked both an appointment and car for the following morning! In the same vein, our booking was on a half board basis ( the €20 per head evening buffet offers excellent value for money) and the staff at all our Breakfasts and Dinner were excellent - with Eli very much to the fore. An added bonus is the live music at dinner which we enjoyed on our first couple of nights. All in all, a most enjoyable stay - one which we would gladly repeat.

A wonderful holiday at Mon Repos Palace on the beautiful Island of Corfu. The hotel was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The view from our 3rd floor balcony was amazing. The hotel has real character and charm with hints of a bygone age. The food was a very good standard with plenty of choice and styles of cooking. Superb buffet breakfast with eggs always cooked to perfection. Housekeeping was excellent and rooms and communal areas are always kept clean. But the highlight of this hotel is the warmth and generosity of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and service always comes with a smile. A special thanks to restaurant manager Stella and her fantastic, hard working and dedicated team. Everyone was so kind and accommodating and we really felt as if we had made new friends during our stay.

We stayed at the Mon Repose in the middle of May. We had a room on the third floor with lovely views across the bay to the fort. We didn’t have a bath in the bathroom, just a shower which was fine but I wouldn’t say that it was dilapidated as some guests have said. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the town in a little suburb. You can walk into the beautiful old town but the 2a bus stops outside the hotel & for €2 it will take you to the square at the edge of the Liston. On the way back stay on the bus & you can get off at a stunning view point above the airport. The food at the hotel was amazing, probably the best I’ve had at a hotel buffet. On at least two occasions I saw staff arranging alternative food for guests who couldn’t find anything they liked. We ate out three times as there are lots of tavernas in the surrounding area but the food wasn’t a patch on the hotel’s. As a few reviewers have said the staff are amazing. The cleaning staff were thorough, friendly & very hardworking, the hotel gleamed. Reception staff were pleasant & helpful but a special mention must go to the restaurant & bar staff, Myra, Maria, Efi, Ferdi & the lovely Alexandra (sorry to those I’ve missed). As others have said some more sunbeds would be lovely, there are some deckchairs & sofas near the pool but not enough. There’s a tiny beach opposite but no chairs or umbrellas. If I had one complaint it would be that the room & balcony were a little small but we were only there for a week & I definitely would go back.

I decided to spend my birthday holiday in this hotel and that was a great idea! Very good breakfasts, everyone will find something for themselves. Very nice, friendly and always smiling staff. Hotel knew that I had birthday so they prepared for me a surprise - birthday cake with bottle of sparkling wine. It really touched my heart ❤️ thank you so much for the warm hospitality and making me feel special. If I come back to Corfu, definitely will stay in your hotel! Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt hier. Tolle Aussicht, tolle Zimmer, tolles Frühstück. Und ein sehr netter Service. Rooms5.0Service5.0Location5.0

We arrived with a big group, celebrating two birthdays. With such a big group it is questionable if everthing goes well! In contrary, the manager, all the staff members, the Seaview from our hotelroom, the Seaview from the terrace, the amazing breakfast, amazing drinks and snacks for a big group and birthday celebration, everything was just in one word, perfect!

The breakfast was excellent. A wide choice of food. The eating area on the terrace was perfect. - Checking in was a bit laborious and could have been better. Our biggest gripe is why on earth does the hotel persist with showers over the bath? This is extremely dangerous. Rip out the baths and put in a modern shower cubicle.
