We stayed here for 10 days at the start of August and we cannot wait to return. The hotel is situated in the hillside and the views of the sea are fantastic, the beach is down some steps but does not take long at all and to be honest, with the amount of food and drink on offer ....... the walk was welcomed. The buffet restaurant was good and a good variety of food on offer, my husband requires a gluten free diet and the chefs were on hand to let us know what he could eat, which apart from the obvious like bread and pasta , most dishes were suitable. The A la Carte restaurants were excellent, food, service and simply amazing views from the Italian called Perla and the ocean view, which served french cuisine. The greek restaurant, Aretki served authentic Greek with great waiters as well. We loved Perla for breakfast, and booked this when we could at no extra cost, simply fabulous start to the day. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the village and shops, either via the beach or down the road, many shops and bars and worth visiting. Room was in the main block and overlooked the beach and one of the two pools, comfortable and clean, fresh bottled water given every day in the room, which was a huge help and saved carrying back from the village. There are shops in resort which are well stocked, gym and spa all there if that's what you like. Hotel staff were all very friendly and very helpful, Dawn in guest relations is just brilliant, thank you. We cannot wait to return.

La vue magnifique, la plage, la piscine, les transats à disposition sur la piscine et la plage très confortable, les couches de soleil. - Les boissons très cheap, le ménage moyen, l’attitude de certains membres du personnel.

The food was very good overall, plenty of choice in the buffet, all very fresh. Proximity to the beach was great, and the staff always very friendly and professional. - Not anyone's fault really, but there were plenty of wasps around. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Stayed here for 10 nights for a couples holiday. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Hotel puts on trips to local sights that are reasonably priced. Communal areas are nice, plenty of sun beds at the pools and beach. Bars are nice but the all inclusive drinks are very average. Also the whole place could be cleaner. Especially if it’s claiming to be 5*. Beautiful sun set view each evening from the restaurants which were the most impressive part of the hotel. Food was very good, especially in the french restaurant. The main restaurant was also very good considering it’s a buffet. Biggest downside was our room, very dated and didn’t look like the pictures at all. Think there must be an old part to the hotel and we just lucked out being in there. Also wasn’t clean. Seems like a minor point but only one English Channel (sky world news) on the TV was a disappointment as well. The room was 3* at best. Despite this we had a nice time, wasn’t worth what we paid but an aspect of that was probably going in August.

Hotel is lovely. Great air conditioning which is greatly needed as temperature outside 36+ at present. Staff very friendly. Good is amazing, 4 restaurants, Italian, buffet restaurant, Greek taverna style, French. Italian is located in main reception part of hotel on 2nd floor and can be pre-booked for breakfast as you will soon realise this is much easier than going for breakfast to buffet restaurant as this is located in another part of hotel. Italian can also be pre-booked from 7 in the evenings. The food is amazing on both occasions. Greek Taverna is an absolute must too but again needs to be pre-booked. Served lunch and dinner. Generous size portions and extremely worth the trek. We have gone all-inclusive which is a must as all food and drink is included. However snacks being served down on beach do have a price. Two good size pools with loungers all around with parasols. Reserving sunbeds isn't allowed but as always you get some that do go down early to put their towels on but no need. Bar at each pool. Bar down on beach too. Lovely sandy beach and snorkeling is good, however not great deal to see. Our room is on second floor of main hotel. Lovely big room with balcony. Large king size bed, comfortable and changed often. Mini fridge nothing in it but large bottle of water given daily. Kettle and yes making facilities. Dvd and TV, TV can take usb. Mainly German channels only two news channels for British . Hotel mainly full of Germans and English. Downside the hotel is split into different levels and there is a steep climb and steps to other restaurants, pools and beach. If you have walking difficulty not great for you, however they do have s buggy system where you can call for a buggy from each venue but there maybe a bit of a wait. Different themed entertainment every night from 9 aswell as fee daytime activities. Hotel advertised as 5 star but more like 3/4 due to location really . Have had a great time here but cannot see ourselves ever coming back. Small village about 10/15 walk but again steep walk back to hotel or you can come back across the boardwalk on beach but again steep climb from hotel.

Just returned from a week at this gorgeous hotel with our grown up children and their spouses. Both couples had superior rooms and we had a deluxe superior, all rooms were good but worth paying that little extra for deluxe. When we arrived we were put in a room which had heavy footfall and didn’t feel private, explained this at reception and was moved that day with no problem thanks to lovely receptionist Sophia. Our room was cleaned everyday, towels replaced when needed, bottled water replenished and sweets left. Our view was amazing especially at sunset.. Food was excellent in all restaurants, lots of choice. We had our breakfast up by our room in the Perla restaurant which we found quieter and more relaxed. Entertainment was good most evenings and daytime activities were varied (I enjoyed learning a cha cha routine). Beata was lovely so friendly, made us feel special all week. All staff were friendly but professional even though they were always very busy. It isn’t a hotel for you if you have mobility issues as it is hilly and has lots of steps but I found this good exercise and it was never a problem. If you have read it’s not a 5* I would say it’s 41/2* but almost there. Only negative towels were put down on sun beds very early even though they’re was a policy against this, getting by the pool was difficult but there were always plenty of sunbeds further away.

Having read a whole bunch of mixed reviews leading up to our holiday I was a little unsure what to expect - however, I realise that reviews are based on opinions and personal experiences so kept an open mind and hoped for the best. Room - we had upgraded a few months before from a superior to a deluxe. Check in was quick and efficient ( we arrived early afternoon and the room was ready after we had lunch). When we were shown our room it was clear we had been given the wrong one - a quick call to reception and this mistake was resolved professionally and with minimum fuss. We had been given a superior room, which was fine, but not the larger deluxe room we had paid to be upgraded to. We were then given our deluxe room (6318 - perfectly located) which was spacious with a large bed, chair, small sofa, walk in shower and a large balcony with table & chairs and a fantastic sea view. The cleaner called every day to make the bed, change towels, empty the bin, bring fresh bottled water and sweets. My only criticism would be that the floor should have been swept daily as you do carry sand on towels, air beds etc if you’ve been on the beach Staff - each and everyone were polite, professional, friendly and very efficient. A credit to the hotel. Restaurants - there is the main restaurant (Androniki) and 3 a la Carte restaurants. The Androniki is the busiest and the food buffet style - the menu choice was varied, frequently changing and the quality of food very good for buffet style. The a la Carte restaurants offered a different dining experience completely- you must take advantage and eat in all of these - the food is incredible. It was a lovely touch in the Perla restaurant for the chef to come and chat with us and ensure we were happy - and I even taught him a little Welsh (!) We also had breakfast pretty much every morning in the Perla Make sure you take insect/mosquito repellent and put it on in the evenings as you will get bitten if you don’t. Wasps - they can be a nuisance during the day, we usually had lunch indoors with a window seat and in the evening had dinner around sunset as the wasps are disappearing about this time The views - as everyone says they are incredibly beautiful and the sunsets are magical. So romantic having your evening meal outdoors watching the sun go down. Entertainment- mostly on the Panorama rooftop bar. This was on the whole very very good, with the Ill Divo type group definitely worth watching. Drinks - no issues for us, enjoyed the beers and cocktails. No long queues and no issues being served. The beach - we didn’t use the pool once so am unable to comment. The beach is fantastic, the staff in and around the beach area attentive and the whole experience superb. The sand is very hot so be careful. The sea is wonderful and not at all cold. There is a small area of pebbles/shingles into the sea but all sand when you are over this There is a nice little boardwalk along the seafront past a number of tavernas into the Main Street which has a few bars and shops. We went into Corfu town on the hotel bus which was a great day also and there is plenty to see and do here - new town, old town, fortress, shops, restaurants etc. We had a brilliant holiday, made memories and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel

La ubicación del Hotel es fantástica y el personal muy amable , pero no es un cinco estrellas , las habitaciones están viejas , necesitan reforma, en España sería un tres estrellas . - La comida y bebidas no son de un Hotel cinco estrellas . Muy masificado

Ok let’s correct some of these reviews - hotels in Greece are not the same as the USA, do not compare. We stayed in 6308 which was a lovely large room with brilliant views. We ate in the Italian for breakfast and enjoyed 7 meals at the a la carte restaurants French, Italian and Greek bookable at reception you also need to book breakfast for Italian also at reception no problem at all 3 days at a time. The quiet pool always had beds (even though guests did usual reserving) however the main pool guests were reserving sun beds at silly o’clock! The beach is fabulous same scenario with sun beds but this is totally unnecessary as there are plenty. Downside of beach is that lunch is available at a cost, not expensive but as an all inclusive hotel you don’t expect to pay. Please note there are a lot of steps my husband counted 120 from our room - but the plus side it keeps you fit! Lunch is available in the main restaurant buffet style and the staff work extremely hard. Please note dinner in this restaurant men may wear shorts with shoes but not flip flops/sandals BUT they are able to wear long trousers with flip flops/sandals. We had a couple of issues when we arrived however between reception and the Guest Relations Manager Dawn Doukas these were quickly sorted. Dawn is a fabulous Manager and is available at reception unless she is spot checking throughout the hotel. Thank you Dawn. The spa - I had a massage at the spa by Joanne who quickly sorted out my very painful neck through sleeping awkward. I would definitely recommend booking an appointment as I have had many at home on holidays and the team are excellent. Car hire mmmm well we did book through reception and received what I called a green bug! At 57€ for the day you get what you pay for I guess. Anyway it did its purpose and we visited Corfu town and Palaiokastritsa. Car struggled on steep hills so relieved there were only 2 of us in the car. Beautiful island so worth hiring a car. Entertainment in the hotel is above the shopping mall and was daily - staff again work extremely hard. The sunsets are amazing and whilst at the hotel I noticed one of the hills looked like a face (side on - photo included). All in all we had a lovely holiday and would recommend (private transfer definitely worth the small cost!) - thank you Dawn and the entire team at the Mayor La Grotta Verde Grand Resort.

I’m going to start by saying if i could give it 4.5 stars I would. Having read a number of reviews before we left, to say I was apprehensive would be an understatement. Thankfully, this hotel was amazing and we will definitely be back. The food, for a buffet style, was pretty great really, and the restaurants were exceptional. The seafood linguine in the french restaurant was my favourite - definitely recommend! The vegetarian options in all restaurants, particularly the main buffet one, were amazing as my sister often struggles finding many options. I also found the drinks included to be pretty good too. A really nice list of unique cocktails, some better than others, and my dad didn’t once complain about the beer so that must have been good too. I can’t fault any member of staff, but particularly loved Irena, Juliette and Alexandra from the french restaurant as well as Sarah and Stella. This hotel has two pools, and we spent most time by the ‘quieter’ one, just because it was less busy. Admittedly, we did reserve beds each morning because there were four of us and we all wanted to be together during the day. But I agree with other comments, if you’re a couple there really isn’t a need to do this. We went on one excursion arranged through TUI which was the Parga and Paxos boat trip. This was a really nice day out (boiling though!) but I would definitely recommend going into town the day before to get breakfast and some snacks. You get picked up a 7 so no time to eat at the hotel and you spend the majority of the day on the boat. We also made use of the bus into Corfu town. This is arranged through the hotel so there’s no other stops along the way. The town is super pretty and we all bought some really unique bits while we were there. For €9 return, I would 100% suggest doing this. I won’t harp on about the views as so many have already as they are unreal, but the sunset really deserves a mention! Absolutely stunning! There’s a decent shop within the hotel on the Market floor which stocks most things you could need, obviously prices were a little higher though. Entertainment was also good and varied which was great. The WiFi round the pool area was definitely spotty but in our rooms and main seating areas it was never a problem. The only thing that took this from a 5 star review is the cleaning of our rooms. My parents were in one room and my sister and I in another and we both found our towels were very rarely changed and I don’t actually think our bed was changed at all (which is fine for a week but two weeks meant it was pretty gross. And full of sand.) My parents also had a drain smell in their bathroom which wasn’t pleasant either. All in all, the hotel is beautiful, staff are super friendly, views are unbelievable and we will be back -with a pool room this time. *Just a heads up, Corfu airport is pretty shocking. We got picked up 4 hours before our flight (most other TUI pick-ups from the hotel were 3 hours) and we didn’t think we were going to make our flight. The queues are ridiculous. I’d maybe suggest booking a private taxi so you don’t waste time*

We've just spent a week at this hotel and can honestly say we've had the best time. The veiws are just incredible especially the sun sets. They have made such good use of there location with the glass balcony’s and panoramic restaurants . The staff are the best we’ve experienced anywhere on holiday, so attentive. The Italian was our favourite but all the bars were great. The Greek off lunch is a must!! The beach is beautiful and we could always get a sun bed. The little village is a short walk down the beach and has some lovely restaurants and the cocktail bar the Lemon Tree is awesome. The rooms are basic but clean and the view makes up for any little negatives. I want to say a special thank you to the lady that runs the Italian as she sorted everything out for me when I proposed with flowers, champagne etc. All in all we’ve loved it and will be returning one day maybe for our honeymoon.!!

We have just returned from a week at the Mayor La Grotta Verde Grand Resort. It has been the most wonderful holiday, for many reasons. The hotel itself is beautiful, staff are all friendly and helpful, and will always go the extra mile for you. Restaurant staff in particular were recognised by both of us as efficient, hard working and ready to help as needed - in particular the Italian restaurant, who made it possible for my fiancé to propose to me in the most romantic setting. ❤️ The food in the A La Carte restaurants is just to die for, especially the lamb in the Greek restaurant. The main restaurant is very good too, but table service is a nice little bonus with the a la cartes. The day time entertainment is minimal, but that suited us. Evening entertainment was pretty good - but we didn’t see much of it as we went in to the village a few times after our evening meal. The TUI reps were always on hand to help if needed and offered valuable advice and information about the local area. As for the views - I have never been so blown away by such beauty! The sun sets are phenomenal - every day I looked forward to seeing the sun slip down in to the sea - a sight I will never forget. The beach is lovely, plenty of sun beds for guests of the hotel, the sea is beautiful, clear and stunning on a calm day. There is a beach bar for drinks and ice creams - which is part of the all inclusive. As mentioned, we walked down to the village a few times, where there are plenty of shops, supermarkets, restaurants & a few bars. In particular The Lemon Tree & Funkyland for cocktails, and there is a Mexican restaurant next to the Lemon Tree which does the most amazing chilli nachos! We have had an amazing holiday at Mayor La Grotta Grand Resort, and will most certainly return. A few tips - Book the a la Carte restaurants as soon as you arrive, and be sure to book the Italian for breakfast, more than once! It is divine! The Greek restaurant opens for lunch, and you can visit more than once if they’re not busy. Lots of people get up very early to reserve sunbeds by the pools, don’t feel the need to follow suit - there are always beds available. Take mosquito spray! The little blighters will eat you alive if not!

We always planned to spend our silver wedding anniversary somewhere special. The hotel has it's up's and down's quite literally, the hotel has a lot of steps and slopes and for 2 says we stayed the lift was out of action. Leaving the market area on the last day there is a big slope up to reception and called for a buggy for our luggage but one did not arrive so up we go. There was also work going on here between 9 and 12 and the only way to get to reception was the long way past all the pools and up more slopes, but thankfully we made sure we were at reception early to avoid this. ( why on a Friday one of the busiest days) The buffet was ok and been a ceoliac was shown around of what I could eat but cross contaimion very easy with guests using same spoon for serving different dishes. We ate at the Italian twice and this was better as knew for sure ( was not always convinced they understand ceoliac) Could not work out the dress code and been told my husband could not enter because he had smart flip flops on and had to do the walk of shame to put on his trainers, been told they have standards but then seeing woman with their bum checks literally hanging out of a pair of denim shorts and men in ripped Jean's is definitely not what I would call 'standards' The staff work hard but there was no real banter which we missed and some did really not seem happy to be working. We do have a special mention for Thomas and Antoino who were fantastic and always made the effort to smile and say hello and Took time out to chat ( when they weren't run off their feet ) Not sure if we would return as felt no personal touch and think they have too much staff in some places and not enough where really needed. Reception staff very helpful as was the restaurant reservations lady.
